Now called Dr Watson's, with the O magnified by a piece of fictional detective's equipment in the logo on the front window pane. This, and the removal of the hanging sign, seem to be the only changes since the demise of Slaters Pick. The bar counter is in the rear of the knocked through ground floor, with four keg fonts and two hand pumps, serving what some people might describe as pedestrian but I would characterise as reliable and always pleasurable Camerons Strongarm and Black Sheep Best Bitter. We went for the Black Sheep, which was not the best I've ever had but certainly good enough. This pub may be micro in scale but the loud music would disqualify it under the normal criteria. Not a bad one as an interlude between the other two Sherlockian pubs just across the road.

Real Ale Ray left this review about Slaters Pick
We were warned by a few of the drinkers across the road in Sherlocks, that the ale in this place was overpriced dishwater. They were also going to time us, to see how long we would last in here. There was a small bar facing us as we entered with a choice of three handpumps serving a choice of Wainstones ales. We went for the Wainstones Copper, which was as mentioned, overpriced tasteless dishwater. The young punky barmaid was welcoming, but didn't really think we looked cool enough to be in this pub, as the majority of the customers were all tattoos, piercings and most probably enjoyed Game of Thrones.

One small room with bar to the left. Three weak real ales supplemented by a strong Thornbridge keg stout.
